Project Engineer (New West Building Company)

Job Type: Full-time, salaried
Work location: On Site - Teton Valley, ID encompassing Victor, Driggs & Tetonia, ID and Alta, WY. Work locations may expand to Jackson, Wilson, and Teton Village, WY.
New West Building Company builds high-quality residential and commercial projects with a focus on craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork. We’re looking for a skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Teton Valley, ID.
About the Role
NWBC is hiring a Project Engineer to support construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll help keep projects organized and moving by managing documentation, coordinating with subcontractors and stakeholders, supporting schedules, and reinforcing quality and safety standards—both in the office and on active jobsites.
Key Responsibilities
- Support multiple projects at various stages (precon → closeout)
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records (drawings, revisions, logs)
- Coordinate OAC meetings (agendas, minutes, action items)
- Prepare project status updates and reports
- Manage RFIs (draft/upload/track/distribute)
- Process and track submittals for compliance with project requirements
- Assist with project schedules and short-term lookaheads
- Support preconstruction (takeoffs, scope support, subcontractor outreach, bid leveling)
- Track material deliveries and verify against approved submittals
- Perform on-site QA/QC and safety inspections; reinforce clean/organized jobsites
- Support closeout documentation and punch list completion
Required Qualifications
- Construction industry experience (internship or professional experience acceptable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience or familiarity with Procore and Bluebeam
- Basic understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to jobsites as needed
- Ability to navigate active jobsites and lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of construction industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Advanced proficiency with Procore
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification

Compensation: The pay rate listed reflects the maximum for this role. Actual starting pay will be based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
