We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer (Entry Level) to join our innovative engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals passionate about mechanical product development and design engineering. Mechanical Design Engineers are responsible for the design, implementation, and proveout of engineering projects. They collaborate with others on the engineering team on complex projects, and they work with the manufacturing team to ensure that the equipment functions as expected. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in mechanical design, project management, and cross-functional teamwork.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, detailing, and sustaining engineering of projects from small equipment orders to large complex automated mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
- Communicate with sales and customers to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
- Apply engineering principles, analytical skills, and empirical methods to develop robust designs.
- Generate engineering documents, drawings, and specifications to internal and industry standards, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Contribute to and participate in technical reviews. Thoroughly assess the ability of proposed designs to meet specified requirements.
- Inspect parts, assemble machines, and test equipment.
Qualifications
- Conceptual design experience.
- Experience with solid modeling CAD applications with large assemblies in team environments. Autodesk Inventor experience preferred.
- Experience with assembling and troubleshooting mechanical assemblies preferred.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
- Familiarity with some of the major assemblies in automobiles and/or trucks preferred.
