Duties
- Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on window tinting experience is preferred by most shops, though entry-level/trainee positions often offer on-the-job training.
Technical & Technical Skills
- Film Application: Expertise in measuring, cutting, heat-shrinking, and applying window films (ceramic, carbon, or dyed) smoothly without bubbles, creases, or dust contamination.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience using tinting tools such as heat guns, squeegees, plotters/cutting software, razor blades, and slip solutions.
- Prep & Removal: Knowledge of vehicle surface preparation (cleaning/decontaminating glass) and safe removal of old film and adhesive residue.
- Legal Compliance: Understanding of state and local window tint laws (VLT percentage limits).
Soft Skills & Customer Service
- Attention to Detail: Precision is critical to achieve flawless, seamless installations.
- Customer Service: Ability to consult with clients on tint percentages/materials, explain services, and communicate clearly.
- Time Management: Capability to work efficiently under shop deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Physical Requirements
- Dexterity & Coordination: High manual dexterity, steady hands, and strong hand-eye coordination.
- Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and maneuver inside compact vehicle interiors for extended periods.
- Lifting: Ability to lift tools, glass materials, or heavy film rolls (typically up to 35–50 lbs).
