At Jefferson Elementary, we cater to students in grades 1-4 with a focus on small group instruction, a responsive classroom environment, and enriching STEM opportunities, all aligned with a robust core curriculum. Our middle school program for grades 5-8 emphasizes advisory, exploratory, and hands-on learning experiences. For high school students in grades 9-12, we offer an extensive range of college, vocational, and work-ready courses to prepare them for future success. AVAILABLE POSITION � SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Location � Washington Learning Center, 910 14th Street North, New Ulm, MN 56073

Job Summary � The qualified teacher will work with Pre-K and kindergarten students and manage a caseload.

Qualifications � 

• Desired licensure in one or more of the following ECSE, ABS or ASD
• Experience with behavior intervention and management strategies
• Experience with social skills instruction and interventions
• Experience with play-based learning
• Knowledge of evaluation process
• Knowledge of service delivery models and supporting the continuum of special education
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators from diverse cultures
• Ability to problem solve with staff and teams
• Ability to train and guide paraprofessionals
• Knowledge of district special education programs
• Understanding and experience in assessment and data driven decision-making

Start Date � As agreed upon; 2026-27 School Year

Compensation Package � The position offers a starting salary of $52,201 - $88,001 based on education and experience. Additionally, a benefits package is available that includes health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision insurance, and 403b retirement plan.
