AVAILABLE POSITION – MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER - GRADE 8
Location – New Ulm Middle School, 414 S Payne Street, New Ulm, MN 56073
Job Summary – The certified teacher develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, evaluates and assesses both instructional material and student performance. The teacher interprets student progress and communicates regularly with parents about student strengths, weaknesses and/or programs. The teacher is a member of an interdisciplinary team and works collaboratively with colleagues to make decisions about team programming and supporting students through intervention and enrichment. The successful candidate will carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract, maintain high quality communication and cooperation with stakeholders, and believes that all students can attain high levels of learning. Demonstrate continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
Qualifications –
Compensation Package – Position offers a starting salary of $52,201.00 - $88,001.00 based on education and experience. Additionally, a benefits package is available that includes health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision insurance, and 403b retirement plan.

- 5-12 Science license or K-6 license with 5-8 Science endorsement
- Understanding of middle school philosophy and the teaming concept
- Understanding of state and national standards in the area of science
- Understanding and experience in utilizing instructional best practices to engage middle level students in learning
- Understanding and experience in assessment and data drive decision-making
