Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Over Night Shift Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team at our Covington, Ohio facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment used in a fast-paced blown film plastic manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting abilities and have the initiative to work independently during night shift operations. This individual will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment reliability, and supporting continuous production.
Essential Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
- Maintain blown film extrusion equipment, auxiliary systems, and support machinery.
- Diagnose and repair motors, drives, sensors, PLC-controlled equipment, pumps, valves, compressors, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential maintenance issues before failures occur.
- Perform equipment modifications and improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
- Work closely with production personnel to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and maintenance best practices.
- Assist with installation and startup of new equipment and production systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Electrical systems and controls
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Mechanical maintenance and repair
- Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
- Ability to work night shift and respond effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred
- Experience in blown film extrusion, plastics manufacturing, flexible packaging, or related industrial production environments.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems.
- Technical degree, maintenance certification, or equivalent industrial training.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of VFDs, motors, temperature control systems, and process control equipment.
