What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five years of experience in special education or direct student services
- Demonstrated school leadership experience, including the ability to supervise, coach, and develop staff
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and reliability in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of behavior science principles and evidence-based special education practices
- Experience serving as a school principal or in a comparable leadership role within a similar educational environment
- Supervise, coach, and develop staff using behavior science principles
- Oversee daily school operations, ensuring alignment with program model and compliance requirements
- Support high-quality implementation of student programming and special education services
- Serve as the primary liaison between New Story Schools and district leadership, ensuring clear communication, strong partnership, and alignment with district expectations and agreements
- Monitor and support the overall health of the district partnership, proactively addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive and collaborative experience
- Build and maintain effective relationships with families and outside professionals
- Manage school facility, property, and overall safety standards
- Model professionalism, follow policies, implement feedback, and attend required meetings
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and completing assigned duties
