As a School Site Lead at New Story Schools, you will serve as the driving force behind your school's success. You will guide teams to deliver consistent, high-quality instruction and behavioral support. Your leadership will directly impact student growth, staff development, and overall school culture. The School Site Lead plays a critical role in creating a safe, structured, and high-quality learning environment for students with diverse needs.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
Minimum of five years of experience in special education or direct student services
Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to supervise, coach, and develop staff
Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and reliability in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
Knowledge of behavior science principles and evidence-based special education practices
Experience serving as a school principal or in a comparable leadership role within a similar educational environment
What You’ll Do
Supervise, coach, and develop staff using behavior science principles
Oversee daily school operations, ensuring alignment with program model and compliance requirements
Support high-quality implementation of student programming and special education services
Serve as the primary liaison between New Story Schools and district leadership, ensuring clear communication, strong partnership, and alignment with district expectations and agreements
Monitor and support the overall health of the district partnership, proactively addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive and collaborative experience
Build and maintain effective relationships with families and outside professionals
Manage school facility, property, and overall safety standards
Model professionalism, follow policies, implement feedback, and attend required meetings
Communicate effectively with stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and completing assigned duties
