Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring comfort and dignity.
- Support residents with mobility needs using equipment like Hoyer lifts or assistive devices to promote safety and independence.
- Monitor vital signs and observe health changes, reporting any concerns promptly to nursing staff or supervisors.
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist residents during meal times to promote proper nutrition.
- Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and conversation to foster mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and behavior management techniques.
- Certification or training in First Aid and CPR is desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Valid driver’s license preferred for driving residents or running errands within the community.
