Position Overview
New South Tractor is seeking a motivated Agricultural & Construction Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role offers a laid-back, yet fast-paced work environment focused on delivering exceptional customer service. Candidates must have experience working with tractors, turf equipment, and construction machinery.
Compensation & Benefits

Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Mid-March through Mid-September: Rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on tractors, mowers, and heavy equipment
- Utilize diagnostic software tools to identify and resolve issues
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, lubrication, etc.)
- Service construction equipment including skid steers and mini excavators
- Repair and maintain hay equipment such as balers, discbines, rakes, and tedders
- Accurately document service issues, causes, and repairs on work orders
- Communicate clearly with customers and team members regarding repairs and timelines
- Participate in required online and in-person manufacturer training programs
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an agricultural and/or construction equipment mechanic
- Must provide own hand tools (specialty tools provided by employer)
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across a wide range of equipment
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean background
- Ability to lift heavy parts and work in a physically demanding environment
Preferred Skills
- Diesel and/or Heavy Equipment degree
- Minimum of 2 years experience in agricultural or construction equipment repair
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software systems
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
