Associate Veterinarian — Weekend Urgent Care
New Smyrna Beach Animal Medical Center is expanding weekend urgent care services and seeking a motivated Associate Veterinarian to join our team. This veterinarian will be providing urgent and urgent-to-primary veterinary care in a fast-paced, collaborative clinic.
What you’ll do
- Provide urgent medical and surgical care for a broad caseload (trauma, acute illness, lacerations, urgent soft-tissue procedures).
- Triage and stabilize emergency patients; perform diagnostics (radiographs, point-of-care lab work).
- Communicate treatment plans and prognosis clearly with clients.
- Coordinate with the weekday primary care team for follow-up care and continuity.
- Maintain medical records, ensure quality of care, and follow hospital protocols.
What We’re Looking For
- DVM or equivalent degree with eligibility for Florida licensure
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with confidence in urgent care or general practice medicine
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of care
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for building something new
- Interest in helping shape the future of a growing urgent care practice
- Full Time OR Part Time Urgent Care Veterinarian
- Compassionate, Team Player and Strong Communicator
- Proficient in general medicine and surgery
- Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an AVMA accredited university
- Current DEA License or obtained upon hire
- Active Veterinary State License
- USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire
