Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing direct support in after-school program activities that promote students’ academic, social, and recreational development. Duties may include facilitating enrichment activities and group projects, preparing materials for activities, supporting student engagement, helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and assisting staff with program operations, events, and daily tasks to ensure a positive experience for participating youth.
- Assist with student check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accurate attendance records and safe student release.
- Supervise students during program hours, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Assistwith the setup and cleanup of activity spaces, including classrooms, outdoor areas, and shared program spaces.
- Provide general assistance to program staff to ensure activities run smoothly and students remain engaged.
- Monitor student behavior and reinforce program expectations and positive behavior practices.
- Assistwith transitions between activities, including lining up, moving between spaces, and organizing groups.
- Communicatestudent needs or concerns to program staff asappropriate.
- Support the implementation of structured activities, games, and enrichment opportunities for students.
- Follow all program policies, safety procedures, and child supervision guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required;additionalcoursework in education, child development, or related fields is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- Strong communicationand interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
- Ability toassistwith the physical and emotional needs of participants.
The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of Help Group. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, certification, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
