This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and stability of our clients during overnight hours. The ideal candidate is patient, observant, comfortable maintaining boundaries, and able to respond effectively in both quiet and crisis situations.*This position is for grave shift mentor to work in our residential treatment center.*Key ResponsibilitiesProvide supervision and support to clients, ensuring their safety during sleeping hours and while awake as needed.Maintain a solid understanding of our therapeutic level system, rules, terminology, and group dynamics to ensure consistency.Use behavioral management and de-escalation techniques appropriately; participate in crisis intervention and therapeutic holds if necessary (training provided).Document client behavior, observations, and overnight activity in daily shift notes for clinical staff review.Communicate clearly and professionally with both staff and clients.Complete overnight operational tasks including:Searching in and documenting clients belongingsUpdating census documentsPrinting and restocking therapeutic materialsCompleting in-house laundryTaking out trash in the workspaceAssist with new admissions and pass returns, including processing valuables and conducting searches.Answer the company phone and front door in a professional, HIPAA-compliant manner.Accurately manage timekeeping through BambooHR.Perform other duties as needed to support the program and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.What Were Looking ForSomeone reliable, steady, and comfortable working independently during overnight hoursStrong communication skills and attention to detailAbility to remain calm and use good judgment under pressureWillingness to learn therapeutic approaches, including DBT principlesPrior experience in behavioral health, residential programs, or mentoring is helpful but not requiredtraining is providedQUALIFICATIONSEducation:Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent of Bachelor's Degree (with behavioral science major) preferred.Training and Experience:Must possess a current certificate for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.Note: If no current certificate, the first aid and CPR certifications will be facilitated by the company upon hire.Knowledge Required:Must demonstrate understanding of and ability to apply behavioral/psychological theory and principles, as well as treatment approaches for young adult psychopathology. Knowledge and experience in outdoor education/recreation desired.Supervised By:Mentor CoordinatorPhysical DemandsThis position requires the ability to safely and effectively perform a range of physical tasks in both routine and crisis situations.
