Description
The New River Valley Recovery Court is seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Specialist who would provide non-clinical, person-centered, wellness-focused support to participants of the Recovery Court Program, who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder and are involved with the criminal justice system. The Peer Recovery Specialist would share firsthand lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope, increase engagement in treatment and in their communities and support participants in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery resiliency and self-advocacy. The Peer Recovery Specialist would work as a part of the Recovery Court Team to provide individual and group peer support services for participants of the New River Valley Recovery Court Program.
Starting Hourly Rate: $17.08 Hourly-Depending on Experience
Education/Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must have a mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more and must identify a year in recovery.
Certification as Peer Recovery Specialist is required.
Additional compensation will be considered for any new employees who speak multiple languages.
