New River Fellowship is seeking a Worship & Music Ministry Resident who desires to grow deeply in their calling while serving in a vibrant, community-centered church. This residency is designed for someone who is eager to be developed—not just as a musician, but as a well-rounded ministry leader shaped through hands-on experience, mentorship, and spiritual formation.
This is more than a role—it’s an opportunity to be discipled as a Christ-follower and developed as a Christlike-leader while actively contributing to a diverse and Spirit-led worship environment.
As a resident, you will be discipled and developed in multiple areas of ministry, including:
- Leading and cultivating meaningful, Spirit-led worship experiences
- Building and shepherding a team of musicians
- Thoughtful and prayerful worship planning
- Exposure to (and training in) the broader life of the church, including pastoral care, prayer ministry, and community engagement
- Collaboration with media and production teams
- Leadership development through regular feedback, mentorship, and reflection
- Help lead Sunday morning worship
- Prayerfully select songs and assist in shaping worship gatherings
- Coordinate and communicate with musicians, including monthly scheduling
- Participate in weekly rehearsals (Thursdays)
- Work alongside the media team to ensure excellence in lyrics and presentation
- Invest relationally in the worship team and broader church community
- A heart for worship and a growing relationship with God
- A teachable spirit and desire to grow in ministry leadership
- Musical ability and some experience leading or participating in worship
- A collaborative, humble, and servant-hearted posture
- A passion for engaging both the church and the surrounding community
- Intentional mentorship and discipleship from church leadership
- Opportunities to grow in a wide range of ministry skills
- Real leadership experience in a supportive environment
- Space to explore your calling within a local church context
- A community committed to your spiritual and personal development
