What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Intake Navigator (CIN) position at New River Community Action Inc?
General Description:
This position is the primary point of contact for consumers seeking assistance from NRCA. Under the supervision of the Whole Family Lead Coach, the CIN is responsible for providing a single point-of-entry for New River Community Action to improve the accuracy and consistency of the screening, assessment, and referral process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs initial intake and assessment by phone or in person.
- Enters data into assigned agency database system(s) as assigned by supervisor.
- Completes qualification screenings for applicable programs.
- Reviews online applications, and schedules initial appointments.
- Schedules followup assessments with consumers within a designated time after completing the initial assessment.
- Initiates referral process, assists staff with identifying appropriate internal and external consumer referrals.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Professional customer service excellent verbal and written communication skills, phone courtesy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of database systems.
- Experience in conducting consumer intakes, informational interviews, assessments with families and individuals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Associate degree in Human Services or a related field or two years of related experience in human services.
Part-time,16 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday, no benefits. Starting pay is $18.39 per hour, possibly more based on experience and education.
NRCA conducts pre-employment criminal background checks, and a driving record check. Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record is required. Pre-employment drug testing is also required.
