High School ELA Teacher

Full-Time High School English Language Arts Teacher New Riegel Local Schools New Riegel Local Schools is seeking a dedicated, student-centered educator to serve as a full-time High School English Language Arts Teacher beginning with the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will foster strong literacy skills, critical thinking, communication, and a passion for reading and writing while building positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Position Responsibilities * Teach high school English Language Arts courses aligned to Ohio’s Learning Standards * Develop engaging lessons in literature, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and research skills * Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners * Utilize technology and instructional best practices to enhance student learning * Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records * Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment * Collaborate with colleagues, intervention staff, and administration to support student success * Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations * Participate in district and building-level professional development activities * Support extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities as appropriate Qualifications * Valid Ohio teaching license/certification in Integrated Language Arts (7–12) or appropriate licensure * Strong classroom management and communication skills * Knowledge of current instructional strategies and assessment practices * Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families * Commitment to academic excellence and student growth Preferred Qualifications * Experience teaching high school ELA courses * Experience with College Credit Plus, or intervention support programs * Familiarity with data-driven instruction and educational technology tools Salary & Benefits * Salary and benefits based on board-approved salary schedule and negotiated agreement * Competitive benefits package included Application Process Interested candidates should submit: * Cover letter * Resume * Three professional references Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
