Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Peer Support Supervisor/QP to lead and oversee peer support services within our behavioral health and addiction recovery programs. Duties
- Supervise and mentor a team of peer support specialists, providing ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback to promote professional growth and excellence in service delivery.
- Lead crisis intervention efforts by guiding staff through complex situations involving mental health crises, addiction relapse, or behavioral emergencies with confidence and compassion.
- Oversee the implementation of crisis management protocols to ensure timely and effective responses to urgent client needs.
- Facilitate motivational interviewing sessions to help clients explore their goals, enhance motivation for change, and develop personalized recovery plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, counselors, and healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review client progress, discuss challenges, and share best practices for behavioral health support.
- Monitor service quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to elevate client outcomes and staff performance.
- Stay current on best practices in crisis intervention, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and social work to inform program development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, or behavioral health settings with a strong understanding of mental health counseling principles.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor staff effectively while fostering a positive team environment.
- Knowledge of addiction counseling techniques and motivational interviewing methodologies.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and case management purposes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and empathetically.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and compliance documentation.
- Certification or licensure in social work, behavioral health counseling, addiction counseling or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience is highly valued.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor during high-pressure situations.
