- Supervise daily produce department operations, including stocking, merchandising, and quality control to ensure freshness and presentation standards are met.
- Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing development of department staff to cultivate a motivated and knowledgeable team.
- Manage inventory levels through accurate ordering, receiving, rotation, and stock replenishment to minimize waste and maximize sales.
- Oversee pricing strategies and promotional displays to attract customers and boost sales performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, health standards, and store policies at all times.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, inventory tracking, and sales reporting to support effective store management.
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent communication skills, organization skills, and leadership qualities to foster a positive team environment.
- Proven experience in retail management or grocery store operations with supervisory responsibilities in a produce or perishables department.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, ability to lift 50 pounds over your head on occasion.
- Able to bend, lift and move up to 75 boxes weighing 30-50lbs each shift
- Strong knowledge of inventory management practices including ordering, stock rotation (FIFO), and shrink control.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in employee orientation, training & development, and team management.
- Familiarity with POS systems, merchandising techniques, pricing strategies, and retail math for accurate sales analysis.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to food handling, sanitation practices, and store safety protocols.
- Strong customer service orientation paired with excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
