Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with building administrators to support student behavior and learning needs.
- Provide individual support for students.
- Provide small group opportunities based upon students' needs and/or staff recommendation.
- Serve as a consultant to teachers, administrators, parents and outside agencies in support of students' needs.
- Communicate regularly with administrators and teachers.
- Make home visits to assist students.
- Complete required documentation and maintains sufficient records.
- Plan educational service programs required by Indiana Department of Education.
- Attend data team meetings, care conferences and other meetings as requested.
- Schedule initial parent meeting for evaluation and completes documentation.
- Support teachers and other staff in assisting all students.
- Administer state and local assessments.
- Complete observations, screenings and assessments.
- Serve as parent liaison to support student and family needs.
- Complete annual employee training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Requires ability to sit up to 8 hours per day with intermittent occasional walking, standing, bending, and squatting.
- Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis
- Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
- Occasionally required to lift or carry supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment at a minimum of 35 pounds

- Standard office and school conditions - Moderate noise level in the work environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures.
- The work schedule consists of a five-day, 40-hour workweek, with overtime dependent on department needs.
- May have to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, and inclement weather.
- Occasional high to moderate levels of stress.
