About New Orleans Redevelopment Authority

The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA), created by the State of Louisiana in 1968 as the Community Improvement Agency (CIA), is a public agency charged with the revitalization of underinvested areas in the City of New Orleans.

Summary Of Responsiblities

The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting project planning and implementation efforts within NORA’s Residential Development, Commercial Revitalization, and Land Stewardship programs. The Project Coordinator supports and assists with executing work plans for NORA’s projects, programs and Strategic Plan. Specifically, the Project Coordinator will support the agency through data and case management, visualization and mapping, report writing, and quantitative analysis.

The Project Coordinator works closely with, and under the supervision of, the NORA Program and/or Project Managers as assigned for specific scopes of work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist in the design, development and launch of various property disposition and development strategies issued by the Real Estate Development & Planning Department, including auctions and housing, economic development and green infrastructure programs through development of program materials, development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), coordination of outreach events and selection of vendors and applicants.
  • Support the program management team in the implementation and closeout of affordable housing, economic development, and green infrastructure programs and other development initiatives, through applicant support, facilitation of technical assistance services and community engagement.
  • Assist with programmatic compliance by conducting inspections, monitoring the maintenance and performance of NORAled and partnerled projects and completing and maintaining compliance and inspection reports.
  • Assist with maintaining program budgets and processing draw and payment requests.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate project and property data through approved NORA systems and file management tools.
  • Schedule and conduct internal and external meetings. Prepare presentations and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, major or concentration in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning, public administration, finance, real estate development or other field related to community design and development is preferred. Master’s degree preferred.

A minimum of three years of work experience in the aforementioned disciplines or a related field. A Master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as a member of a highly motivated and professional team.
  • Detailoriented and wellorganized
  • Fluent in all components of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with webbased workflow and land management software, like The Davenport Group’s LAMA (Land Management) preferred
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS preferred
  • High standards of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness
  • Demonstrated ability to respect and maintain confidentiality whether written or verbal
