Role Description The IEP Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Sci High in New Orleans, LA, responsible for overseeing all aspects of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students receiving special education services. This role manages the IEP process from referral to implementation, including coordinating evaluations, drafting and revising IEPs, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. The IEP Manager collaborates closely with general and special education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to design and implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, and supports that align with each student’s goals. Day-to-day tasks include scheduling and facilitating IEP meetings, maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring student progress, and providing guidance and professional support to staff on special education best practices. The IEP Manager also contributes to school-wide initiatives that promote inclusion, equity, and high expectations for all learners.

- Strong knowledge of special education law and compliance, including IDEA, Section 504, and state/district regulations, and experience managing IEP and 504 processes.
- Skills in assessment, data analysis, and progress monitoring to interpret evaluations, track student growth, and adjust supports based on evidence.
- Collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, educators, related service providers, and external agencies.
- Experience in instructional planning, differentiation, and behavior supports, with the ability to coach teachers on accommodations, modifications, and inclusive practices.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines for meetings, reports, and compliance requirements.
- Commitment to equity, cultural responsiveness, and supporting under-served students in a rigorous STEM-focused environment.
- Relevant certification or licensure in special education (or eligibility to obtain), and a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; a master’s degree
