The ReStore Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, financial performance, and daily operations of the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore. This position provides leadership to staff and volunteers while ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence, safety, inventory management, and financial accountability.

The ReStore Manager is responsible for maximizing sales, donations, profitability, and community engagement while supporting Habitat for Humanity's mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing.

Describe the key duties and responsibilities of the position below:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the ReStore.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
  • Hire and recommend disciplinary actions with approval from the Director of ReStore Operations.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget and meet sales and profitability goals.
  • Monitor daily sales, expenses, payroll, and cash controls.
  • Oversee customer service, merchandising, pricing, inventory, donation intake, and warehouse operations.
  • Build relationships with donors, businesses, and community partners to increase donations.
  • Work with Marketing department to promote the ReStore and recruit volunteers.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, safe, and compliant with company policies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and prepare reports for the Director of ReStore Operations.
  • Recommend operational improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate employees and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of furniture, appliances, and building materials preferred.

Work is performed in a retail/warehouse environment and may require climbing ladders, considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in a retail and warehouse environment. Must be able to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position of 40 hours of work and days must be flexible, generally Tuesday through Saturday.
