Milagro Quarry Ground Laborer

New Mexico Travertine is a full-service natural stone fabrication company supplying quality stone products to customers all over the United States. NMT's Milagro Quarry is a producer of landscape rock and flagstone in Central New Mexico.

We are currently seeking individual(s) for a General Laborer(s) who is willing to work on the ground doing Labor Work, who is team oriented and looking for a stable business to join and grow.

Hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Pay will start at $15.50 per hour.

Candidate must be able to have their own transportation to travel to our Milagro Quarry daily. The Quarry is Located in Guadalupe County, about 8 miles SE of Santa Rosa, NM .

This position requires safety minded individuals with strong drive and enthusiasm who want to advance our organization and may be performing various general/manual labor duties on a frequent basis. These general tasks include shoveling, stacking stone, gathering and delivering supplies and materials and assisting others in performing their duties. With supervision, this position performs a variety of tasks involved with mining while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Duties

• Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment, trash pickup and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
• Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and training
• Shoveling, surveying, sample pick-ups, belt moves, power moves, and roadway maintenance
• Willingness to operate any equipment as needed after training
• Maintains equipment through greasing, fueling and minor repairs
• General housekeeping duties as necessary
• Other duties as assigned
• Assists crew leader/operator with operation of machines as needed. Must be aware of surroundings, keeping a close watch for any possible problem, and immediately report any problems to crew leader/operator.
• Remains alert for hazards involved in crusher operation and observe MSHA and operating rules and regulations.
• Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment and plant as required or directed by supervisor.
• Use of a shovel to move material will be necessary.
• Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup.
• General labor duties at the operation performing service work on equipment, grounds keeping
• Equipment Operation a plus

Applicant Minimum Requirements

• Applicant must be at least 18 years old
• Reliable transportation to get to and from work is required
• M.S.H.A. certificate part 46 or 48 or willingness to obtain certification if needed - company will pay for certification
• Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions
• Punctuality is required
• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs
• Drug Free Environment - This site is regulated by and observes Federal Regulations. Employees must be completely drug-free (including THC) at all times during employment.
