Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Production Manager to oversee daily operations at our coffee manufacturing facility. This role requires strong leadership, deep operational knowledge of coffee production, and hands-on experience with SAP Business One (SAP B1). The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end production activities, ensure product quality, maintain safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. Production Manager sets the tone and personality for a productive production environment by demonstrating a commitment to our core values and company vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning & Scheduling
o Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in coordination with demand forecasts using SAP B1.
o Monitor production KPIs such as yield, output, downtime, and on-time delivery.
- Operational Oversight
o Supervise roasting, grinding, packaging, and flavoring operations to ensure product consistency and efficiency.
o Coordinate with maintenance and quality assurance to minimize downtime and ensure compliance.
- Team Leadership
o Lead and develop a team of production supervisors, machine operators, and packaging staff.
o Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
- Inventory & Materials Management
o Work with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure availability of green coffee beans, packaging materials, and supplies.
o Manage WIP and finished goods inventory accuracy using SAP B1.
- Process Improvement
o Implement lean manufacturing and 5S principles to reduce waste and increase productivity.
o Analyze production data from SAP B1 to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Safety & Compliance
o Enforce all safety protocols and ensure compliance with food manufacturing standards (FDA, USDA, SQF).
o Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for safety or quality issues. Leads Food Safety Meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
- 3 years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing; coffee industry experience preferred.
- 2 years of experience using SAP Business One (SAP B1) in a production or operations capacity.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of 10 employees.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, SQF, GMP).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma or Project Management (a plus).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (a plus).
- Experience with flavoring processes and specialty coffee standards.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing floor and office environment.
- Some lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, and exposure to noise, dust, and heat.
- Occasional weekends or extended hours during peak production.
