What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Financial Aid Advisor/Processor position at NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY?
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for evaluating, approving, and awarding financial aid to students in accordance with federal, state, and university regulations, policies and operational guidelines. Responsible for maintenance of all Campus Based Aid.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess financial needs of students.
- Advises students and parents regarding financial aid.
- Participates as appropriate in systems/procedures planning.
- Responds to inquiries and resolves problems related to transactions handled by the department.
- Serves as liaison with state, federal, tribal and other agencies.
- Analyzes and evaluates financial viability of students and families.
- Reviews and assesses eligibility for federal aid.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience in Financial Aid or Accounting or a related field.
