Get to Know Your Team:
The New Mexico Heart Institute at Lovelace Medical Center. New Mexico Heart Institute is a hospital out-patient department providing comprehensive cardiovascular care.
Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, to include patient care and staff management assigned to the RN in his/her charge.
- May serve in the role of Charge Nurse and is accountable for professional practice.
- Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
- RN responsible for the triaging and the comprehensive care of pre- and post-operative cardiothoracic surgical patients.
- This role directly supports five CT surgeons and ensures that patients receive continuous and effective care through all stages of the surgical process.
- RN provides pre and post-operative care, education, care coordination, and communication.
- This position is crucial for ensuring that all cardiothoracic surgical patients receive high-quality, patient-centered care both before and after surgery, contributing to improved surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Minimum: Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing
- Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)
- BLS, ACLS and PALS.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Desired: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Two (2) years critical care experience.
