The New Mexico Film Office (NMFO), part of the New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD), is integral to sustaining and growing the film industry as a vital component of New Mexico's economy. Serving as a primary resource for productions wishing to film in New Mexico, NMFO provides guidance on everything from local crew and vendor resources to navigating the Film Production Tax Credit Act. By supporting productions directly, NMFO not only increases employment opportunities and develops workforce and training for New Mexicans but also strengthens the economic success of local businesses and builds essential industry infrastructure across the state. Why does the job exist?
This position will provide administrative support to the New Mexico Film Office and will be the first point of contact for the public.
This position will also manage office operations to include answering phones, file management, website/database upkeep, purchasing, travel, and will work directly with representatives from production companies.
How does it get done?
- Schedule/coordinate meetings for NMFO Director and staff
- Proficient use of various software including Microsoft Office products, website management software, and other NMFO/State of NM used software/applications.
- Assist in the preparation of memos, invoices, letters, reports, and other documents
- Answer main line in a polite and professional manner
- Track, screen, route, respond to incoming communications
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records
- Research as needed
- Coordinate travel, book reservations, airfare, ground transportation, event tickets, and prepare associated reports and paperwork
- Purchase office supplies
- Create and manage Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, and other procurement documents
- Responsible for NMFO purchase card
- Familiarize yourself with all division functions in order to understand and perform duties effectively and accurately
- Maintain and grow NMFO policy and procedure manual
- Data entry
- Can work independently- Discretion is a must
- Must be adaptable and able to pivot quickly as needed

Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with exposure to Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some work outside of the office, such as assisting with events, may be required. Some travel may be required. May require overtime at times.
Bargaining Unit Position
This position is not covered by a collective bargaining unit.
Salary
$19.97 - $29.95 Hourly
$41,527 - $62,291 Annually
This position is a Pay Band C4
