Clerical Staff in the Northwest Region support the delivery of a wide range of essential public health services, including immunizations, reproductive health, breast and cervical cancer screening, harm reduction, Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAUD), sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention and treatment, primary care, and maternal-child health. Services are provided through traditional public health offices and mobile health outreach, ensuring access in even the most remote communities.

Currently, training, quality assurance, and protocol implementation are managed independently at each office, resulting in inconsistent processes and support. The Public Health Specialty Clerk was created to standardize clerical functions, enhance training and competency development, support documentation accuracy, and ensure all offices are operating in compliance with state and regional expectations.
This position also provides critical coverage during staff absences, ensuring that public health offices can continue to deliver uninterrupted care and services to the communities they serve.

Regional Clerical Support
Provide administrative and clerical support across multiple public health offices in the Northwest Region, ensuring continuity of operations when primary staff are unavailable.
Serve as a regional resource for clerical best practices, workflows, and documentation standards.
Training and Onboarding
Develop and deliver training for new and existing clerical staff to ensure consistent knowledge of protocols, electronic health systems, and front desk procedures.
Support onboarding of new clerical team members and offer hands-on assistance as needed.
Quality Assurance and Auditing
Conduct routine chart audits and administrative reviews to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with clerical and programmatic standards.
