Target Pay Range/Rate: $32.120 per hour or $66,809.60 annually
The Administrative Office of the Courts if recruiting for a full-time, perm Pretrial Services Officer Leadworker #10112773-21800 for the Background Intake Unit in Albuquerque, NM. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under general supervision of the Pretrial Services Supervisor, this position will work within the AOC Background Investigation and Public Safety Assessment Unit in Albuquerque, NM. This is a centralized unit developed to provide critical background investigation reports and the Public Safety Assessment to courts statewide. This position will help oversee the daily operations and work of the staff on their assigned shift, while receiving general guidance from the Pretrial Services Supervisor. This position will be required to complete the following work, as well as review work of staff: conducting thorough criminal background investigations; receive and respond to correspondence from detention centers and courts throughout the state; update various daily logs used to track work progress and performance. In addition, this position will act as a designee who is authorized to make pre-trial defendant release decisions based on program criteria. This position will also assist with (as assigned) in checking court dockets, development of Standard Operating Procedures, assisting with employee performance evaluations and plans, completing an end of shift report and other duties as assigned. A shift differential of $3 per hour will be paid for all hours worked between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. The employee in this position will be assigned to work the night shift with Thursday and Friday as the days off (subject to change, based on the program’s needs). All BI/PSA Unit staff may be required to work weekends, holidays, and when the AOC and/or courts are closed due to inclement weather. The ideal candidate has enthusiasm, is detail oriented and is a team player with leadership qualities. Extensive experience with Odyssey and NCIC is preferred.

COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant should demonstrate their knowledge of court-ordered programs; case management techniques; pre-adjudication supervision procedures and sanctions; rules and statues governing bond/bail and release from detention; formulating release plans; treatment, rehabilitation and support programs; sentencing guidelines, procedures, court rules, substance abuse and mental health symptomology, counseling and treatment; psychotropic medication; mediation techniques; investigative techniques utilizing investigative resource and interviewing procedures; sentencing guidelines, available treatment options and community providers; NM law, civil and criminal procedure; physical and psychotropic medication; mediation techniques; drug screening methods and equipment, interpretation; NCIC procedures; HIPPA; knowledge of employment law and NM Judicial Branch Personnel Rules.

Work is performed in an office or court setting. A valid driver's license and travel may be required. The assigned work schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Education Substitution: Four (4) years of directly related or relevant experience may substitute on a year for year basis.
- Experience: Four (4) years experience in criminal justice, social services, probation, corrections or related field.
Experience Substitution: None.
Other: Must obtain and maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within six (6) months of hire.
