Merchandising Assistant
New Look Vision Group is seeking a detail-oriented and style-driven Merchandising Assistant to support the execution of merchandising strategies across our luxury optical portfolio, including Robert Marc NYC and Morgenthal Fredericsretail locations.
This role sits at the intersection of fashion, retail, and optics—supporting how our collections are curated, presented, and optimized across a network of high-touch, design-led stores. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for product, understands luxury retail environments, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-brand setting.
Market Recaps & Reporting
- Assist Buyers in preparation for market appointments, including assortment analysis, line planning, and historical performance review
- Support in-market execution by organizing product information, capturing notes, and tracking selections across vendors
- Maintain detailed records of seasonal buys, including style, color, and quantity breakdowns
- Compile comprehensive market recaps, including key trends, brand highlights, and assortment shifts
- Build and maintain post-market reporting to track buys against budget, prior season performance, and strategic goals
- Support Buyers in summarizing opportunities and risks following each market cycle
Product Data & Assortment Management
- Create and manage product setup sheets, SKU lists, and assortment tools
- Ensure accuracy of product data across systems (pricing, specs, delivery timelines)
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth product onboarding and launch readiness
Sales Analysis & Performance Tracking
- Generate weekly and monthly selling reports by brand, style, and category
- Analyze sell-through, identify top performers, and flag underperforming styles
- Support reorders, cancellations, and assortment adjustments based on performance insights
Operational & Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with Planning, Retail, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on inventory flow and merchandising priorities
- Assist with vendor communication and follow-ups on orders, deliveries, and product details
- Support sample tracking and showroom organization for internal reviews
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or retail analysis (luxury or fashion preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, reporting, data organization)
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Interest in luxury eyewear, fashion, and product merchandising
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
