In order for the courts to maintain a current listing of qualified candidates who are interested in potential employment, applications are being accepted for the position of Temporary Assistant Clerk I for the Superior Courts located within the New London Judicial District. Individuals who may have previously applied and are not currently employed must submit an updated resume.
Court locations include:
- New London Judicial District, 70 Huntington St., New London.
- New London Judicial District at Norwich, 1 Courthouse Sq., Norwich.
- Geographic Area 21 at Norwich, 1 Courthouse Sq., Norwich.
- Superior Court for Juvenile Matters at Waterford, 978 Hartford Turnpike, Waterford.
These positions encompass a wide variety of duties including courtroom clerk, jury, caseflow, scheduling pre-trials, calendars and other related duties as assigned in the Civil/Family/Criminal Divisions.
Compensation for attorneys and law school graduates is $21.41 per hour and $19.10 per hour for law school students. Also, Temporary Assistant Clerk I is a full-time position of up to 70 hours in a two week pay period. Eligibility for group health insurance (medical and dental) is attained after having worked more than 60 days on a half time schedule during 4 bi-weekly periods. If elected within 30 days of hire, group term life insurance begins after six months of employment. AA/EEO
