Job Summary
We are looking for a Safety and Compliance Manager to ensure workplace adherence to federal, state, and company-specific health regulations to prevent employee injuries and legal penalties. The Safety and Compliance Manager develops safety programs, conducts risk assessments, performs inspections, trains employees, and maintains all compliance documentation.
Responsibilities
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
· Safety Compliance & Auditing: Develops, implements, and enforces safety programs, procedures, and manuals. Conducts regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
· Regulatory Liaison: Acts as the primary point of contact for external regulatory inspections (e.g., OSHA, FAA, local agencies).
· Risk Management & Investigation: Identifies safety hazards and potential compliance issues through regular workplace inspections and audits of equipment and procedures , leading investigations into accidents, injuries, or non-compliance incidents.
· Training and Development: Establishes training programs to educate employees on safety policies, PPE usage, and regulatory compliance.
· Incident Investigation: Analyzing accidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
· Documentation & Reporting: Meticulously documenting safety activities and compliance audits for regulatory reporting. Maintains accurate safety records, files appropriate compliance reports, and updates OSHA logs.
· Policy Development: Researches new legal requirements and updates company policies to maintain compliance with changing laws.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (preferred but not required, depending on experience).
- Experience: 5 years of previous experience in health and safety, regulatory compliance, or risk management.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA).
- Skills: Strong communication skills to liaise between employees and management, fostering a proactive safety culture, analytical thinking, incident investigation expertise, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
$60,000-80,000 per year depending on experience
**This is an in-person position, remote/virtual work is not an option**
