New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.
Job Summary:
To serve New Life Church by providing a warm welcome and gracious service to callers, visitors, and guests and assist the Membership Department with database management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming calls; answer questions; provide information to callers and guests; take complete and accurate messages; and route calls to appropriate staff members.
- Be attentive to all guests and visitors in our lobby in an effort to discern potential security issues and request additional staff assistance when needed.
- In CCB, check guest in, address and mail birthday cards to congregants and other tasks as assigned.
- Assist Pastor on Site with benevolence forms.
- Help keep Receptionist Policy & Procedure Manual current on a quarterly basis.
- Ensure that contractors, who report performing a job at NLC, sign in at Information Center and receive a badge.
- Manage all incoming and outgoing mail operations, including package logging and generating reports from the postage machine.
- Record all deliveries on the appropriate delivery sheet (UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, etc.)
- Prepare postage and reports for outgoing letters and packages maintain postage supplies and postage.
- Assist with updating data in CCB while maintaining familiarity with current CCB practices through required video training.
- Keep communion cabinet stocked.
- Operate necessary office machines and help to maintain the reception area.
- Assist in keeping lobby area tidy. Notify Hospitality for largeitems and when deliveries arrive
- Store and distribute as appropriate valuable lost and found items, contacting owners when possible via church database.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries of New Life Church.
- Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
- Maintain regular communication with the supervisor on departmental matters while assisting with special projects, events, and a variety of tasks supporting the department.
- Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
- Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform basic arithmetical functions.
- Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions, type accurately, and demonstrate excellent grammar and communication skills.
- Effectively and efficiently operate a multi-line telephone.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Excellent grammar skills and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and to complete projects with little guidance.
- Ability to handle constantly changing priorities and demands and perform effectively under pressure.
- Bi- or multi-lingual a plus.
- Strong organizational and office skills.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with various software applications and Microsoft Outlook.

Education and Experience:
Education: No specific requirements
Experience: Minimum 1 year as a receptionist or equivalent work experience in customer service.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
