Job Title: Community Coordinator
Salary: $17.00 per hour Hours: 10 hours per week
Qualifications: New Life Christian Church (NLCC) is seeking a Christ follower who is interested in serving as our Community Coordinator. Applicants must be in full agreement with the stated mission, purpose, and beliefs of NLCC. A lifestyle that demonstrates an ongoing walk with Christ is expected. Previous administrative experience is preferred, but not required.
Job Description: The Community Coordinator will work directly with the Pastor to accomplish the mission of NLCC. The office administrative responsibilities include organizing, ordering various supplies and keeping the office in good order are an essential part of the job. There is the possibility of Sunday morning duties (if the applicant attends New Life) and responsibilities of volunteer oversight, setup of various events, etc. Some weeks might be on the lower end of working hours, and other weeks on the higher end depending on events and activities.
Skills: The Community Coordinator will carry a wide range of responsibilities, and the skills (preferred, but not required) are reflective of the job. They include: · Clear communication skills, both oral and written. · Knowledge of common computer programs and a general knowledge of social media usage. · Ability to organize and maintain a clean workspace.· Placement of various materials, bulletins, and information in an attractive display. · Works well with volunteers who serve the church.
Responsibilities: The responsibilities fall into three main areas. 1. Communication. The Community Coordinator will write weekly emails to the church, informing them of upcoming events, news, and prayer needs. This includes helping NLCC maintain an increased social media presence. They will also maintain the church website. They will work with our church management software (Breeze) to communicate with volunteers and support other ministries as needed. They will also create a weekly bulletin in both electronic and hard copy form.
2. Organization: From simple tasks like getting the mail to helping the Lead Pastor assess long range about upcoming events. There may be access to some of the financial workings of the church, so wisdom, discretion and quality moral character is essential.
3. Support: The overarching job is to support NLCC by supporting the various tasks that need to be done. While every effort will be made to clearly lay out the expectations of the job, flexibility is needed in this role. While most weeks will be very routine, the church is a group of people and not a business. Therefore, the needs, assignments, and tasks each week not only might change, but change should be expected. The role of Community Coordinator is to assist the Pastor in his task to lead NLCC.
