What are the responsibilities and job description for the Media Specialist/Clerk Aide position at New Lebanon Local Schools?
Media Specialist-Clerk Aide-(5.5 hrs. per day, 5 days a week), to be assigned to the high school library. The approximate hours for this position will be Monday – Friday 8:20 a.m. – 2:05 p.m. (178 days worked plus 8 paid holidays).
Job Description:
Maintain an orderly and functional library. Provide guidance and support to enable students and staff to use library/media resources. Maintain an environment that stimulates interest, enthusiasm, and inquisitiveness about subjects and events.
Minimum Qualifications include but not limited to:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid State of Ohio educational aide permit and ESEA qualified. To be "ESEA Qualified" you must have successfully completed the following criteria: Pass the examination for paraprofessionals prescribed by the State Board of Education (ParaPro) or an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or at least 2 years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours). A clear record as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and/or the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Ability to learn skills appropriate for the position. Demonstrated maturity and the ability to work with students and their families.
