Medical Receptionist / Medical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our NLWC team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a growing mental health environment. This role involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in maintaining patient records and supporting the overall efficiency of our clinic.

Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
• Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar effectively.
• Handle medical collections and insurance verification to ensure accurate billing.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Utilize EMR system Ensora/Theranest for documentation and record-keeping.
• Review documentation for completeness and accuracy before patient visits.
• Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, addressing inquiries and directing calls as needed.
• Assist with medical coding using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and other relevant coding systems.
• Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate care plans and ensure optimal patient service.

Skills

• Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with health information management practices.
• Experience with EHR systems and medical office management is highly desirable.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient interactions.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus to better serve diverse patient populations.
• Previous experience in a medical or mental health office setting is preferred, along with knowledge of insurance processes.

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
