The Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting controls systems on released products, including troubleshooting, field issue resolution, and coordination of software updates. This role serves as the first responder for controls related issues across production, field, and service environments, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations. The Controls Specialist also supports production test systems and collaborates closely with cross functional teams, owning all post launch controls support activities and driving issues through to resolution.

- Serves as the primary responder for electrical and hydraulic controls related issues in the field and production environments, diagnosing problems and driving timely resolution.
- Provides controls support to sales, service, and customers, including field visits as required.
- Coordinates and implements controls system updates for released products, working with internal teams and external partners.
- Supports production test stands and troubleshooting activities to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
Productivity / Job Knowledge
- Troubleshoots electrical, controls, and system level issues on released products in both shop and field environments
- Reads and interprets wiring diagrams, schematics, and control logic to identify root causes of issues
- Coordinates with third party software developers and vendors to implement and validate updates or fixes
- Supports setup, maintenance, and improvement of production test systems and equipment
- Documents issues, solutions, and system behavior to build knowledge and improve future response
- Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Service
- Interfaces directly with customers when needed to diagnose issues and support resolution
- Demonstrates strong ownership of problems through to closure, ensuring issues are fully resolved and not recurring
- Works independently to prioritize tasks while maintaining alignment with team objectives
- Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending corrective actions

Requirements
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2–4 years of experience in controls, electrical systems, or manufacturing environment.
Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and hydraulic control systems.
Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical documentation.
Experience working with HMIs, sensors, and basic control systems preferred.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Action oriented with the ability to take ownership and drive issues to resolution.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to work directly with customers and field personnel.
Willingness to travel as needed for field support and customer issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
