What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer School Instructor - Literature/History position at NEW JERSEY SCHOLARS PROGRAM INC?
The New Jersey Scholars Program, a magnet, residential interdisciplinary program for exceptional high school students is seeking one or two dynamic instructors in literature and/or history for a 4-week full-time session this summer (beginning June 27) in Central New Jersey. The theme this summer is "Game-Changers: Exploring the Consistency of Change." Within that theme, curriculum and choice of readings for your college-level course is open in literature, history, or a combination of both. Each instructor is responsible for four interactive lectures of 60-90 minutes, and eight 90-minute seminar sessions repeated among three sections (or 24 classes in all) over the four-week period. Prior teaching experience required. Ph.D. preferred but ABDs and high school teachers also eligible. Compensation is comparable to 3-credit summer courses at the college level, plus all meals provided.
