In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $63,129.05-$107,893.56 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.

Position Summary:
The Office of Development & Alumni Relations seeks a Prospect Research Analyst. This position identifies, collects, organizes, analyzes, and disseminates information on prospects, prospect groups and issues of strategic importance to NJIT in order to enhance the ability of development officers to successfully acquire philanthropic support for NJIT.
Essential Functions:
- Identify prospects with the inclination and capacity to add to discovery portfolios. Conduct analysis of constituent data to support prospecting.
- Devise strategies for obtaining new prospects in order to ensure the ongoing development, expansion, and renewal of the prospect base to which NJIT will turn for current nd future support.
- Analyze and synthesize information to assess prospect giving capability, philanthropic tendencies, and appropriate potential solicitors; sources include complex financial and legal disclosures, corporate reports (10K, stock reports) proxy statements, foundation tax reports (IRS PF 990), and county documents (assessment records).
- Prepare event briefings and detailed profiles on individual, corporate and foundation prospects in advance of calls and events in order to obtain optimal outcomes.
- Monitor news alerts and prepare weekly alumni newsletter shared via e-mail.
- Ensure the integrity of research and prospect information in Raiser’s Edge.
- Develop and contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Monitor publications and other sources to identify prospects.
- Manage special projects as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards as specified by APRA.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years and above of related work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data from a wide variety of sources, and present the resulting information in a clear summary.
- Strong communication skills, written, verbal, and exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the methods of information acquisition, including use of sources (LexisNexis, NOZA, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Experience with CRM software is required; Raiser’s Edge is preferred.
- Experience with iwave, WealthEngine and/or Donor Search is preferred.
- Personal integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
