Additionally, the Professor of Practice will organize and lead the admissions committee for the department's postbaccalaureate program, overseeing the admissions cycle while implementing holistic review processes that align with institutional values of equity, diversity, and academic excellence, and will serve as the primary institutional liaison for partner institutions with whom the department has established articulation agreements.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the starting salary for this position is $77,500.00-$100,000.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.

Essential Functions:
Academic Advising and Student Development:
- Serve as Graduate Program Director for the Master of Science in Biology of Health program.
- Provide individualized academic and professional guidance to graduate students throughout their academic program.
- Guide students through the health professional school application process, including composing a personal statement, preparing for interviews, and developing strategies for preparing for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).
- Facilitate career and professional development programming aligned with students' academic and professional objectives.
- Prepare committee letters and provide evaluative recommendations for students seeking admission to professional and graduate programs.
- Teach classes related to the curriculum including developing new courses as needed.
Admissions and Enrollment Management:
- Chair the admissions committee for the postbaccalaureate program.
- Assist with student recruitment and cultivate strong professional relationships with admissions personnel at medical schools, dental schools, and other health-related graduate programs to facilitate student placement and enhance the program's reputation.
Program Assessment and External Relations:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with admissions personnel at medical schools and health-related graduate programs.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance student placement and program reputation.
- Maintain comprehensive tracking systems to document student outcomes, including application statistics, acceptance rates, and post-graduation career trajectories.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Terminal degree (MS, MA, Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or equivalent) in biological sciences, health sciences, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education, graduate program administration, or health professions advising.
- Expertise in health professional school admissions processes and requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to mentor diverse student populations.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience serving as a graduate program director or in a comparable leadership role.
- Established relationships with admissions committees at medical or health-related graduate programs.
- Experience with postbaccalaureate program administration.
- Record of successful student placement in competitive health professional programs.
- Familiarity with articulation agreements and inter-institutional partnerships.
- Experience with program assessment and outcomes tracking.
