Objective: The Senior Director, Business Development leads sales and marketing efforts across HBS’s portfolio of service offerings. Working in close partnership with each service line’s operational leaders, the Senior Director drives new business development, expands client relationships, and promotes HBS services in the marketplace.
This role serves as the primary driver of new client acquisition, strategic partnerships, sponsorship growth, and expansion of existing business relationships. The Senior Director identifies new opportunities, develops sales strategies, and works collaboratively with internal subject matter experts to effectively position the organization’s services to meet the evolving needs of our members and related stakeholders. The Senior Director is accountable for building and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective business and achieving annual revenue growth objectives established by leadership.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead sales and business development activities for HBS service portfolio, including but not limited to HBS Staffing Solutions, Insurance Services, Health Information Services, Princeton Claims Management, and ProCLAIM.
- Develop and execute strategies to generate new business, expand current relationships, and drive revenue growth across service offerings.
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients, partnerships, and sponsorship opportunities.
- Cultivate relationships with members, industry partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Promote and expand sponsorship opportunities associated with HBS initiatives, programs, and events.
- Identify opportunities for new products or enhancements to existing services based on market needs and client/member feedback.
- Maintain a strong understanding of all offerings to effectively communicate value propositions and identify cross-selling opportunities. Coordinating with service line subject matter experts as needed to support the sales process and ensure effective communication of service capabilities.
- Track sales activity, pipeline development, and revenue opportunities using CRM or similar technologies, and periodically report and present updates to organizational leadership.
- Represent HBS at industry meetings, conferences, and networking events to support business development efforts.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, preferably within healthcare or association environments. Demonstrated success generating new business and managing complex sales cycles. Strong relationship building and networking skills with a proven track record of revenue generation. Ability to quickly understand and communicate complex service offerings. Experience using CRM systems and other technology to manage sales pipelines and opportunities. Self-directed professional with a proactive, externally focused approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000
This position is eligible for incentive compensation tied to business development and revenue growth objectives.
