The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is seeking applicants who are interested in hourly employment opportunities.
The Division of Legislative, Administrative and Regulatory Actions directs the Department's legislative agenda; collaborates with other Divisions to ensure awareness of introduced legislation; collaborates with other Divisions to implement newly enacted public laws ensuring successful implementation within the Department through both rules and regulations and policies and procedures.
Under direction of a supervisor the hearing officer will review suspension requests, conduct hearings, and do all necessary tasks necessary to administer the Department's toll collection and enforcement system, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 27:1A - 3.1 and N.J.A.C. 16:3.
No telework is available for this temporary position.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education.
Thirty (30) semester hours credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Seven (7) years of professional experience relevant to the job duties indicated above.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university;and three (3) years of the above - mentioned professional experience
SPECIAL NOTE Special Services positions are filled on a part - time, temporary basis during normal business hours, but some evening hours may be required. Candidates appointed to a Special Service title will be limited to 944 hours in a fiscal year.
NOTE: Professional experience refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the authority to act according to one's own judgement and make accurate and informed decisions.
LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
WORK AUTHORIZATION Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States according to the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations. NJDOT does not provide sponsorship or accept student OPT/CPT program, F1 or H1B work authorization visas.
