Scope of Eligibility
Open to permanent employees in a competitive title who work in the Division of State Forest Fire Service & Forestry and meet the requirements below.

Description
Under supervision, types and also performs routine, repetitive, clerical work of a varied nature; does other related duties as required.

Specific to the Position
Candidate's duties will include data entry and filing related to the Private Lands forest management program, including correspondence to over 1,300 landowners enrolled in Farmland Assessment program. Additional correspondence to consultant foresters, municipal tax assessors, and other State, federal agencies and nongovernmental organizations. Generate the annual report for municipal tax assessors. Provide office staffing and perform other duties related to the Private Lands forest management program.

Preferred Skill Set
Knowledge of NJAC 18:15, NJAC 7:3 as well as Microsoft Access, ESRI ArcMap required. Ability to cohesively and coherently correspond with landowners, state and federal agencies, and consultant foresters is preferred.

Requirements
Two (2) years of experience in clerical work including typing.
NOTE: Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of experience indicated above. Coursework must include keyboarding skills, methods, and procedures; other courses may include, but not be limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English.

License
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

Residency
