Oak Knoll seeks an energetic and passionate full-time long-term substitute for a Grade 1 Homeroom/Language Arts and Reading/Religion teacher to begin March 2, 2026, through May 2026. This candidate will join an energetic and collaborative team of Grade 1-2 teachers in our departmentalized Lower School.
Qualified applicants will create, internalize, modify and prepare lesson plans in accordance with academic curriculum, design lessons that engage and inspire young readers, writers, and explorers, have a strong understanding of early reading and writing teaching and learning, understand and implement project based learning and cross curricular units of study, work closely with the grade level team, work closely with students, families and colleagues to create an environment that is supportive of student progress, reinforce a firm foundation for all classes and uphold classroom management techniques, keep running records of student performance and assessments and use this data to help guide your lesson plans and differentiated instruction, participate in school, level, and parent meetings, participate in school events, activities and programs both during and outside of regular class instruction hours.
Qualified applicants will have at least a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Education, a NJDOE Elementary School Certificate, strong written and oral communication skills, a desire to collaborate with colleagues, and a belief that all students can succeed. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
