This position will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and provide leadership in wastewater treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with EPA, IDEM, and local regulations associated with wastewater, hazardous and solid waste, stormwater, contingency planning, and other applicable programs.
- Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations.
- Conduct all required testing within the department.
- Perform calibrations on all lab test equipment to maintain accurate data.
- Implement and maintain a QA/QC program pertaining to wastewater laboratory samples and their analysis.
- Update and develop SOP's within the department.
- Review and analyze data associated with the wastewater treatment plant by conducting microscopic evaluation of wastewater.
- Make changes to the wastewater treatment plant using data collected through testing, visual inspection, and other observations within the facility.
- Assist in filing all required environmental reports and permit applications.
- Maintain all files that are required by regulators.
- Maintain chemical and lab supply inventory for the wastewater plant.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems.
- Aptitude to identify new projects and facility improvements necessary to maintain compliance and opportunities to reduce operational costs.
