What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at New Horizons Regional Education Center?
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Performs general daily custodial duties includes cleaning restroom, toilets, urinals, sinks, countertops and fixtures, stall walls, mirrors and empty trash cans. Ensuring that toilet paper, soap, paper towels and hand sanitizer is filled at all times, sweeping, mopping floors, and pull trash. Other areas of building will also include sweeping and mopping of classrooms, cafeteria, and hallways, meeting rooms vacuuming carpeted areas. This will also include all glass doors, lighting fixtures, dusting and all finished surfaces and trim.
Experience in floor maintenance. Keep sidewalks free of debris. Inspect all restroom dispensers to ensure their working properly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record. Completion of a high school education or GED. Black slip resistant work shoes are required. Knowledge and /or experience with the commercial cleaning process. Knowledge or ability to quickly learn tools and procedures of facilities and grounds cleaning, and maintenance tasks. Physical strength and agility necessary to perform some heavy lifting and periodic outdoor work with sufficient mobility and dexterity. Ability to work independently and as a member of the custodial team and follow through on routine tasks. Must be able to read and write and follow oral and written instructions.
