Job Title: Patient Access Representative
Position Summary:
New Horizons Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This role is essential to ensuring a positive patient experience by providing excellent customer service, accurate registration, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling. As part of our front desk team, you will support access to high-quality, affordable healthcare for all members of our community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients in person or by phone with professionalism and empathy
- Schedule, confirm, and check in appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility and update patient demographics accurately
- Collect co-pays, balances, and documentation for sliding fee scale applications
- Educate patients on available services, financial assistance programs, and required documentation
- Ensure proper completion of consent forms and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and assist with resolving concerns or questions
- Maintain orderliness of front desk and waiting areas
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support efficient patient flow
- Use electronic health record (EHR) system and scheduling tools with accuracy
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting, customer service, or front desk role preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations or in a community health/FQHC environment is a plus
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced setting
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with computers and basic office software; experience with EHR systems preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday–Friday
- On-site work required at New Horizons Healthcare facilities
- Occasional extended hours based on clinic needs
