This position plays an important role in providing quality meal service to our residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, works well as part of a team, and is dependable and willing to help wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal setup and tray assembly.
- Serve and deliver meals to residents in a timely and courteous manner.
- Assist with dining room and meal-service setup.
- Portion food and beverages according to menus and resident needs.
- Stock food, beverages, supplies, and service areas.
- Follow resident dietary restrictions, meal tickets, and special requests.
- Assist with basic food preparation as needed.
- Maintain proper food-safety and sanitation procedures.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and properly.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist cooks and other dietary staff as needed.
- Complete cleaning and closing responsibilities at the end of the shift.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous food-service experience is preferred.
- Senior living, healthcare, or CBRF experience is a plus.
- CBRF experience and/or training preferred.
- Willingness to complete required CBRF training after hire.
- Ability to follow meal tickets, menus, and dietary instructions.
- Knowledge of basic food-safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Must be dependable and able to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to approximately 30 pounds.
