Role Description The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will support licensed Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality therapeutic services to clients. This full-time, on-site role in Phoenix, AZ involves implementing treatment plans, guiding clients through therapeutic activities, and documenting progress in accordance with professional and regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with functional assessments, preparing therapy materials, providing direct patient care, and collaborating with the therapy team to adjust interventions as needed. The COTA will also help educate families and caregivers, contribute to program development, and promote a safe, positive clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with the ability to carry out treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Experience or training in Patient Care and Home Care, including supporting clients in performing activities of daily living and functional tasks.
- Ability to assist with Program Development, contributing ideas for activities, interventions, and therapy resources that support client goals.
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and eligibility for state licensure in Arizona.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Strong documentation, time management, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and professional ethics.
- Experience in pediatric or adult therapy settings is beneficial; bilingual skills are a plus.
